Data Processing

Efficient and fast processing is ever more importantThe days when MR customers were satisfied with reports that came four weeks after the data was collected are long gone. Today your customers expect almost real-time insight into the research outcome. That also means that clever solutions need to be implemented to get your data ready for reporting quickly.

The NIPO Software benefits

Optimised for research dataMarket research companies have special needs when it comes to data processing. Common tasks for data processing departments are importing of data that is collected elsewhere, mapping data sets, weighting collected data, merging data from different research flights, cleaning unwanted data from the data set, and checking data. Most data management applications require extensive scripts and procedures to do these actions. The NIPO Software tools are optimised to handle research data and efficiently prepare 'raw' data for further handling.

Fast and flexible NIPO Software has created a script driven environment for data processing. The script language is easy to learn and at the same time very powerful. NIPO Software scripts can be setup to do only small actions, and then combined in larger meta scripts that run series of these smaller actions in sequence. This way you can quickly create custom DP scripts based on your company's own DP action library. Scripts that you have created can be saved and re-used at any moment.

Format independent Whether your data is stored in a database or in a file should not matter for your data processing activities. Often, data are in both formats and transforming from one source to the next costs time and might introduce errors. NIPO Software tools are created based on the assumption that the meta data and respondent data are stored separately. Data processing scripts use the meta data to interpret where the research data is stored and what it means. This gives you complete freedom to choose where and how you store your data. That meta data can be formatted in the NIPO Software format or in the industry-standard Triple-S format.
